  1. Very nice! I recently spent some extended time with these headphones, mostly focusing on the performance of the internal amplifier. Although they do scale with the quality of amplification, the built in amp is amazingly good for the size. For reference, I compared the built in amp (hidden in the cans) with a 30lbs tube behemoth and found pretty subtle improvements with the big desktop hog. Of course subtle improvements are part of the audiophile hobby, but I wouldn’t be ashamed to use the built-in amp on the go or in a pinch.
